This is a sketch of Mark Knopfler with his National Guitar "Style O". I kept a lot of spaces in this sketch blank since I'm going to fill them in with black charcoal.
If those spaces had been filled in with graphite, the charcoal would only slide of and not stay on the drawing(I made that mistake before).
The charcoal is also going to make the drawing more alive, since it stays matt in the darkest areas and doesn't give shine like graphite. But I'm going to add graphite for some texture, details & shadows.
I'm also going to add some color to his shirt with colored pencils.
