Description
My dad wanted to buy a drawing from me of a swedish viking with a battleaxe and a torned flag and in the background he wanted it to be a battlefield.
So I looked up some pictures to to get some inspiration of how I should create this drawing like for example: torned flags, viking armour, big fields, mountians and many more.
He also wanted a text on the drawing which says: "Siste svensken tar flaggan med sig" which means approximately "The last Swede takes the flag with him".
I made the drawing in photoshop so he could se an example of how the drawing could look like. I also made a text on the battleaxe in runic which says: "This drawing was made by Jennifer Carlsson to her father Mats Carlsson April 2014". If you watch this drawing in full size view you can see the runic.
He loved the photoshopped version so I started to draw.
It took me around 9hours to draw the sketch, which is what I think takes most of the time.
I really like how the result turned out and my dad really loved the drawing when he got it.
Time: 15hours
Tools: 2H-8B graphite pencil, 0,3mm-0,7mm mechanical pencil, ruler, kneaded eraser, eraser, tortillions and chamois for blending
Paper: 250g/m2 Canson Bristol A3
